Marquis Beach Resort

Having paused operations for a year to undergo renovations, Marquis Beach Resort, a stunning beach-side 4-star property in Goa had relaunched. We helped them erase online footprints – images and redundant information about the old property, spanning years, and helped them rake in the bookings.

The Challenge

Marquis Resort, Sinquerim is a 4-star property that has been in business for over 2 decades. Being on the ever-popular North Goa beach belt, demand for premium accommodation is high. However, due to the several dozens of hotels and home stays (offering everything from dirt-cheap to highly priced accommodation), standing out and building a wonderful online and offline reputation is as big of a challenge as winning over the net-savvy customer with plenty of choices at his fingertips.

Marquis Resort had paused their digital marketing activities for one year due to renovations and have recently resumed the same, in June 2019. We took over the marketing of the brand post renovation.

What We Did

We took care of the end-to-end digital marketing for Marquis Beach Resort post renovation. Our first priority was to remove and hide the past resort footprints in order to avoid confusing potential guests – this included old photographs, amenities and information that no longer exist at the property. Given that the property is decades-old, the old information available online was widespread and took a few months to comb through and replace where needed. 

We then began optimizing the website and growing visibility of the brand via:

  • SEO
  • PPC
  • OTA Management 
  • Social Media
  • Email Marketing

The Result

Changes were made to the Marquis Resort website to make it faster to load on mobile, easier to find online (due to our SEO efforts), easier for customers to call/email etc. After building up our SEO and Ad activities for a period of 2 months, the resort saw a 45% hike in traffic in a 1 month period.

The increase in relevant traffic, as per the brand’s targeted demographic, led to a 42% growth in the number of leads per month.

Customers searching for ‘Luxury Resorts in Calangute,’ ‘Hotels in North Goa,’ ‘Beachside resorts in Goa’ are bombarded with umpteen number of options. Appearing on the first page of Google for relevant keywords play a large part in being found, being contacted and receiving bookings.

Marquis Resort was initially not even in the first 10 pages of search results when a customer searched for relevant keywords. Our SEO planning and implementation saw their ranks improve and today, they feature on the 1st page for every competitive keyword, giving them the competitive advantage for customer bookings over every other hotel in their vicinity.

We manage close to a dozen OTA platforms for Marquis Resort. This entails helping them increase their ranks, updating content, replying to reviews quickly and more. A cumbersome task that leads to direct benefits as Marquis Resort is at the receiving end of a 64% increase in month-on-month revenue and top ranks on OTA Platforms.
